There is nothing good about:
- Homeowners humiliated that they are being kicked out of their home.
- Lenders terrified to show more losses on their books.
- Buyers spend valuable time and effort – with no guarantee of a sale.
And
It is an Idaho law:
The City of Sandpoint cannot spend tax revenue it has not received?
Empty homes do not provide tax revenue. And Sandpoint cannot write a check on an empty bank account.
Without tax revenues our – Schools, – Police, – Fire and – Road Departments (all of which took a hit this winter) have to cut back necessary services. Services that keep us all safe.
We have seen saw firsthand the effect that empty houses and homeless families have on our city.
We pray that no one reading this has to deal with being homeless and destitute.
We want to help keep the homes in our community filled with proud property owners who will improve the surrounding home values and provide the tax revenue we need to keep us safe.
And, so that all our taxes will not be increased.
