Sandpoint City Council Deletes Proposed Site Plan Standards
The Sandpoint City Council finally deleted some of the proposed site plan standards for buildings with a footprint larger than 20,000 square feet.
Deciding by a majority vote that they did not want to become Sandpoint’s “color police” they eliminated the original requirement of “exterior building materials and colors that are aesthetically pleasing … ,” including “the use of high-quality materials and colors that are low reflective, subtle, neutral, or earth tone.”
Can you imagine?
It reminds me of two former Downtown Sandpoint Business Association (DSBA) Board members telling me that prior to Home Depot coming to Ponderay, Idaho; at least one member thought they should be approached to not use their branding colors but be forced to use cedar siding.
For desperate homeowners this is just not the most important issue that our elected officials have to ponder.
Last week mortgage applications dropped 14.2 percent and most experts agree that most of the decline is due to the lower number of refinance applications that are down 18.9 percent. As we near the end of the month most mortgage rates have increased slightly. 30 year fixed-rate went from 4.69% to 4.81% and we also saw 15-year fixed-rate and 1-year ARMs bump up a tiny bit.
I can help you with the numbers that mean the most to your bottom line and that assistance comes with no forms to sign or commitment in writing on your part.
