Sandpoint Foreclosures – Ball of Confusion

The Temptations sang it 39 years ago and it makes me think of the number of Sandpoint Foreclosures and the state of the nation:

” … Fear in the air, tension everywhere.
Unemployment rising fast, the Beatles new record’s a gas.
Dennis:  And the only safe place to live is on an Indian reservation.
Melvin:  And the band played on.
Eve of destruction, tax deduction, city inspectors, bill collectors,
Mod clothes in demand, population out of hand, suicide, too many bills,
Hippies moving to the hills. People all over the world are shouting, ‘End the war.’
Melvin: And the band played on.
Great GoogaMooga, can’t you hear me talking to you.  Sayin’… ball of confusion”.

That’s music from the soundtrack of Sandpoint foreclosures and our mortally wounded economy.   One of every 355 homes in America is in foreclosure.  Borrowers are benched as mortgage rates moved up to 5.29% on top of the increase in foreclosures.

No job?  Not shopping?  Not alone.  Retail sales numbers are down and 558,000 people are in the unemployment line.  Sandpoint foreclosures that house our friends and neighbors will not be saved by the stimulus funds, the government programs, or the banks.

“… Evolution, revolution, gun control, sound of soul.
Shooting rockets to the moon, kids growing up too soon.
Politicians say more taxes will solve everything.

We have to help each other.  I know how tough it is right now.  The faces of Sandpoint foreclosures belong to some people I have known for years.  Sandpoint homes all have a personal economic story.

Every day I am working to find solutions.  It’s not all about Sandpoint property and Sandpoint homes.  It’s about the people that make that house a home. If you’re wrapped up in a ball of confusion and need answers.  You know what to do.  Ask Ray.
